NBR (Nitrile rubber) is the general term for acryl-nitrile butadiene polymer.

O-ring cord is primarily used for special dimensions or instead of deliveries of standard O-rings which first have to be ordered and which are therefore not available for immediate delivery. Because they are a cheap and simple sealing element, O-ring Cords have a very wide area of application in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Where working conditions and equipment are suitable, they can be used both in static and low pressure dynamic applications, but they are not recommended for rotary movements.
Because they take up less space and provide two-sided sealing compared with other sealing elements, Cord O-rings make designing easier. Obtaining good results from Cord O-ring applications depends on suitable measurements, choosing correct materials, and suitable surface quality on metal parts.

PROFILE

 PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
• Can be used both for hydraulic and pneumatic system.
• Can be used both for static and low pressure dynamic applications.
• Both for rod and piston application.
• Wide compound range.
• Wide range of dimensions.
• Easy installation and removal.
• Economical sealing solutions.

APPLICATION
Used in almost in every industry but especially in non-moving machinery and in static sealing applications, e.g. as flange or cover seals.

For special dimensions, O-ring cord has a clear advantage as the application can be customised to the solution in question, while being a relatively low-cost solution.

Good chemical resistance to mineral oils and greases and hydraulic oils. Not suitable for outside use because of poor resistance to ozone and UV rays.

INSTALLATION
O-rings are fitted into the groove by hand. It is very important that the assembly tools must be of soft material and have no sharp edges. Before installation all individual parts of the seal must be oiled with system oil.

NOTES
For special applications that require high temperatures, O-rings can be produced in FKM material. Can be used up to 400 bar with a back-up ring.
